Non Linear Interaction between Long Waves in the Equatorial Waveguide

چکیده
The change of sign of the Coriolis force in the Equator produces an e ective waveguide for a large class of long atmospheric waves Among these waves the longest and slowest are the nondispersive Kelvin and the dispersive Rossby and Yanai or mixed Rossby gravity waves These waves which have been observed in the troposphere and lower stratosphere are believed to play a sig ni cant role in the dynamics of the tropical atmosphere The most prominent waves observed are very long Kelvin waves with wavenumbers l and l i e inverse wavelength equal to the whole and a half of the circumference of the Earth and Yanai waves with l It has been proposed in that these waves force the stratosphere from below contributing to generate the quasi biennial oscillation of the mean wind in the tropical middle atmosphere The occurrence and persistence of these waves raise a number of important questions

A simulation study of RX-mode waves generation in the equatorial plasmasphere
The generation mechanism of RX-mode waves in the equatorial plasmasphere has not been well understood. The Akebono passing through the storm time geomagnetic equator shows the possibility of the local enhancement of RX-mode waves in association with intense Z-mode waves in the equatorial region. We use the initial parameters inferred from observational data from around the plasma-wave generatio...
متن کاملA Study of Bit Condition for Generation Rx -Mode Waves: Interaction of Particles with Z/UH-Mode Waves
Interactions of charge particles with electromagnetic waves have important effects (linear and nonlinear) on the propagation of electromagnetic waves, and it can somewhat play a role in generation of the new mode waves. Besides, the particle energies can play an important role in causing instability in plasma. The values of parallel energy of the particles have been calculated so that they can ...
متن کاملScattering of linear and nonlinear waves in a waveguide array with a PT -symmetric defect
We study the scattering of linear and nonlinear waves in a long waveguide array with a parity-time (PT )symmetric defect created by two waveguides with balanced gain and loss. We present exact solutions for the scattering of linear waves on such a defect, and then demonstrate numerically that the linear theory can describe, with a good accuracy, the soliton scattering in the case of weak nonlin...
متن کاملBoundary layer dissipation and the nonlinear interaction of equatorial baroclinic and barotropic rossby waves
Two-layer equatorial primitive equations for the free troposphere in the presence of a thin atmospheric boundary layer and thermal dissipation are developed here. An asymptotic theory for the resonant nonlinear interaction of long equatorial baroclinic and barotropic Rossby waves is derived in the presence of such dissipation. In this model, a self-consistent asymptotic derivation establishes t...
متن کاملNon-Invasive Determination of Blood Glucose Levels by Optical Waveguide
Objective: Today, there are various non-invasive techniques available for the determination of blood glucose levels. In this study, the level of blood glucose was determined by developing a new device using near-infrared (NIR) wavelength, glass optical waveguide, and the phenomenon of evanescent waves. Materials and Methods: The body's interstitial fluid has made possible the development of ne...
